I have found the easiest way to remove waterproof make up! Cleansing oils have been a game changer for me. One of the reasons I didn’t like applying make up was because I had to take it off at night. I dreaded fumbling around with a cotton pad and rubbing my eyes with a stinging eye make up remover. I hated that step. But when the beauty world came up with this idea, I was blown away.
I discovered the Body Shop one from Amelia Liana & Estée Lalonde. They hyped it up pretty well so I decided to jump into it and I fell so hard for it. I found myself actually looking forward to my night time skin care routine because of this.
If I am on light make up days, I could get away with using my normal cleanser. But I usually wear waterproof mascara and those things do not budge! Using a cleansing oil makes it easier to melt off ALL the make up from your face without pulling, tugging, rubbing, and scrubbing.
The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil retails for $16CAD for the 200mL bottle. The Body Shop usually goes on sale so I get it at a cheaper price. I have 3 bottles to stock up because I love it so much.
How I personally use it:
- Take 2 pumps and rub it on my dry caked up face starting from my face and going lastly with the eyes because that’s where I put the most make up. I rub it in until I feel that the waterproof mascara has came off.
- Take a bit of water and massage it into the face. It’s gonna turn into a milky texture.
- Wash it off with water. Alternatively, if I want to exfoliate at the same time, I will use a wet washcloth and rub the oil off.
- I usually use my normal cleanser or a micellar water (which I will talk about in another post) after using a cleansing oil, but on lazy days I just skip this step. #tamadora
I have been using this particular cleansing oil for about 2 years now and it hasn’t broken me out at all. It also doesn’t sting my eyes. The only downside I can say is that it isn’t travel friendly because the oil may leak out of the bottle after a while.
Overall, The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil is a great make up remover for our lazy days (in my case, every single day. lol) It simplified my skin care routine by a mile.
